LG Electronics Roadshow "Rhythm of Life"

Event Type:corporate events
Client:LG Electronics
Date:June July Annually
Venue:Six venues nationally

TP Events has planned and managed the annual LG Electronics Roadshow since 2002.

Touring nationally each July, TP Events delivers eight shows in six venues across five states in just four weeks. In 2005 the Roadshow visited the Adelaide Convention Centre, Perth's Burswood Casino, Melbourne Crown Casino, Sydney Showground, the newly opened Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre, and the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The Roadshow is an opportunity for LG Electronics Pty Ltd Australia to showcase their range of LG products for the upcoming financial year, as well as to thank and reward retail sales partners for their sales contributions during the year. Speeches and interviews with LG Executives throughout the night educate the audience on LG's goals and strategy for the year to come, while games and prizes amuse and involve guests, who learn something new about LG without even trying!

Brisbane 600 1 night

Danny Yezerski, Managing Director of TP Events and Brigid Paton, Roadshow Event Director, worked with Production Designer Paul Venables, to devise the "Rhythm of Life" concept, in conjunction with the LG Marketing Department.
Working closely with host Garry Eck, the team developed the script and a series of bingo games based on LG products. Collaborating with Food & Beverage Manager Donna Lloyd, Production Manager Josh James, Logistics and Operations Manager Henry Skipper, Technical Communications Manager Agostino Marcello and a dedicated stage management team, the traveling crew of 22 toured the show across five states in as many weeks.

The Roadshow is hugely successful amongst guests with positive feedback recorded on survey forms in all states. The show is a highlight on the Electronic Retail Industry calendar.

The Roadshow centred around a huge audiovisual component in 2005, leaving a technically and logistically complicated show to turn around in just over five weeks.

Maintaining continuity across the states while dealing with script changes, inevitable over a month-long production, kept the stage management and creative teams on their toes.

Designing a set that was both high-impact and compact-to-pack was a challenge, as was the logistical feat of transporting two semi-trailer loads of LG products, technical gear, staging and props around Australia. We worked hard to successfully maintain the energy and morale of the crew throughout the tour.

It was very important for this event to be interactive to ensure guests were engaged and informed by the product information. With this in mind, the great team at Human Rhythms lead the guests in a drumming session designed to inspire and energise the participants.

Host Garry Eck and two "Rhythm of Life" girls guided the crowd through customised bingo (or Lingo as it was termed) games that allowed the members of each table to participate. Each 'Lingo' game card displayed 16 of LG's latest products. Garry called out corresponding numbers and tables had to call "Lingo!" when all the products on their board had been called out, with a DVD recorder being given away to each member of the winning table.

For the first time in Australia, TP integrated a digital high resolution audio visual projection system which allows blending of up to 100 image sources, including live feeds of broadcast quality camera content from eight mainframe computers to six digital projectors all onto a 100m x 5m panoramic screen giving audiences a spectacular 280-degree visual display. The overall effect was amazing.
